Frequently asked questions
All questionsWe show only the most popular payment methods - bank cards, cryptocurrency, WebMoney, QIWI and PayPal - as they cover most of the hosting providers' users' requests and simplify the choice. If the desired option is not available, we recommend contacting the provider directly, perhaps it offers additional payment methods.
If the provider's billing does not have the method you are looking for, it is worth checking payment aggregators, such as Robokassa and Interkassa, which may support a wider range of payment systems.
VPS (Virtual Private Server) and VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server) are two names for the same technology. Historically, both terms have caught on in the industry, but today they are considered complete synonyms.
Simply put: it is a service where several independent virtual servers are created on one powerful physical server.
The main benefits for the user:
- Guaranteed resources: Unlike regular shared hosting, here you are hard-coded for your processor cores (CPU), amount of memory (RAM) and disk space. Your server neighbors cannot "take" your power.
- Full control (Root access): You get administrator rights. This allows you to install any software, configure Nginx, Docker or specific scripts as if it were your own computer.
- Flexible scaling: If your project (for example, an aggregator or VPN service) becomes cramped, you can increase memory or disk capacity in a couple of clicks without moving your data.
- Isolation and security: Your data and processes are completely isolated from other users, which is critical to the stability of your site.
The choice of capacity depends on the "appetite" of your software and expected traffic. The main advantage of VPS is scalability: you can start with a minimum and increase resources in a couple of minutes without reinstalling the system.
Recommended VPS parameters for different tasks:
| Task | Recommended resources | Why so? |
|---|---|---|
| Tests, VPN, light scripts | 1 core CPU / 1-2 GB RAM / 10+ GB NVMe | Basic minimum to run Linux and simple background tasks. |
| WordPress sites, lendings | 1-2 CPU cores / 2-4 GB RAM / 20+ GB NVMe | Optimal for stable database (MySQL) and caching. |
| Stores (Bitrix, OpenCart, Magento) | 4 CPU cores / 6-8 GB RAM / 50+ GB NVMe | Heavy CMS require lots of RAM for fast order processing. |
| Docker containers, Node.js | 2+ CPU cores / 4+ GB RAM / 40+ GB NVMe | Development environments and modern applications are memory-sensitive. |
Some tips for choosing a VPS:
Disk type: Always choose NVMe. They are several times faster than regular SSDs, which directly affects your site's loading speed and search engine position (Core Web Vitals).
Memory reserve: If your project uses a database, try not to take a tariff with 512 MB or 1 GB of RAM "to spare" - the operating system also needs resources to work.
Location: For SEO and minimal ping, choose a server location as close to your target audience as possible.
Important: If you're unsure of your choice, start with the lowest possible rate. You can always monitor the load in the control panel and, if resources become scarce, upgrade to a higher rate with one click.
Why it's important: Users often don't know whether to choose a server in Europe, USA or Hong Kong. A: The location (geography) of the server directly affects the Ping (latency of data transfer). The closer the server is to your visitor, the faster the site opens.
- For SEO: Page load speed (specifically LCP - Largest Contentful Paint) is taken into account by Google when ranking sites
- For conversion: A 1 second delay can reduce conversion by 7%.
Which location to choose? Focus on your target audience
Location tip: Choose a server location as close to your target audience as possible. This has a direct impact on your site's TTFB and search engine rankings.
- South America: If your customers are in Brazil, servers in São Paulo are an ideal choice. However, given the high cost of Brazilian data centers, a great compromise would be Miami, USA. With direct submarine cables, latency will be minimized and the rental price will be much lower.
- Asia: Singapore and Hong Kong are best suited to cover the Asian region. These are the largest network hubs with the shortest routes to China, Japan and Southeast Asia, which guarantees stable operation even under high loads.
- Europe and Ukraine: To work in the Ukrainian market it is optimal to choose servers in Kiev, Warsaw or Frankfurt. This will ensure almost instant loading of pages for users.
Remember: if your audience is distributed all over the world, use a bundle of "fast VPS + CDN". This will allow the main content to load from the closest node to the user.
